Dr Salim Farrar is Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney, Faculty of Law. He is a graduate of King’s College London and Warwick Universities, and has taught for 16 years in England, Malaysia and Australia, including 6 years at the International Islamic University in Kuala Lumpur. He specializes and researches in Islamic Law and its relationship with secular laws and society, Criminal Justice and Malaysian law. Currently, he is researching the accommodation of national laws to Islamic banking and finance and its role in fostering economic and social development.
